Handmade from recycled newspaper stock listings and genuine U.S. dollar bills, this dramatic wide cuff transforms the everyday imagery of finance into an intricate piece of wearable art.

More than 1,200 individual beads are handmade from paper, combining the tiny numbers, letters and financial symbols of newspaper stock tables with fragments of familiar dollar-bill imagery. The beads are then meticulously hand-stitched together on comfortable elastic cord, creating a richly textured mosaic in subtle shades of black, gray, ivory and currency green.

Viewed from a distance, the bracelet has an almost textile-like quality. Up close, its origins begin to reveal themselves—numbers, type, fragments of stock listings and tiny details from dollar bills emerge throughout the surface. The result is a piece that plays with ideas of money, value, commerce and transformation, turning materials associated with financial worth into something whose value comes instead from artistry and handwork.

Despite its substantial appearance, the bracelet is lightweight and flexible, allowing this bold statement piece to remain comfortable on the wrist.

Each bracelet is individually handmade by artist Holly Anne Mitchell, and because the newspaper and currency fragments vary from bead to bead, no two pieces will ever be exactly alike.
