ABOUT THE ARTIST
Holly Anne Mitchell was earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts
Degree from The University of Michigan and had a project to
create a piece of jewelry without using any traditional
materials: no metal, precious/semi-precious stones, etc. She
chose Newspaper because of the Bright Colors and Rich
Textural Patterns of the Sunday Comics. The idea stuck with
her and she has been creating Newspaper Jewelry ever since!
Holly Anne has received several awards and her artwork has
been featured in numerous publications including The
Boston Globe, Art & Antiques, The Washington Post, The
Washington Times, Ornament, Mary Engelbreit Home
Companion and The Baltimore Sun. She has also been profiled
in a recent episode of The Food Network Series "Unwrapped".
